Hey y'all!
Welcome! My name is Messina (she/her), and I am an expressive and passionate performer and arts manager based in NYC. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, dancing competitively across the Midwest with Storm Dance Alliance until attending Oklahoma City University and graduating Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor of Science in Dance Management.
I have performed regionally and globally, with my recent credits including Graziella in West Side Story at the Fireside Dinner Theatre, with original choreography staged by Andrew Winans; workshopping a new show for RWS Global/Holland America Line with choreography by Jessica Castro and direction by Jason Sparks; Red Bucket Follies with Chaz Wolcott; and Dance Captain on board Holland America Line cruises with RWS Global.
When I’m not performing, I am setting choreography as a Show Supervisor with RWS Global and welcoming folx to Dance Lab Studios from behind the desk! My work as a Show Supervisor has been so fulfilling, and I have loved fostering my relationships with the RWS team while exercising my management muscles. Serving smiles at Dance Lab Studios has bolstered my love for the dance community of NYC. It is a beautiful experience to watch the architects of dance shape the industry as we know it.
As a creative outside of entertainment, I love playing with fiber arts, trying new recipes (@messi.eater), eating my way around the city, and visiting local botanical gardens.
I am known for my unbridled enthusiasm, deliberate efficiency, and contagious joy! Whether I am leading or being led, I bring my lighthearted nature and adaptable energy to every project.
